My bet is on \u201cMama\u201d, but Yevdokiyushka is not so sure, somehow \u2013 she claims to have examined the statistical incidences of all the words she uses, and claims that it could just as well be a certain swearword, or however a baby would pronounce it, anyway. I suppose if she\u2019s right it could be something like \u201cfa-fa\u201d\u2026? Though \u201cf\u201d would seem like such a difficult sound for a baby to pronounce …\u00a0<\/em>Well, only time will tell!<\/em><\/p>\n How are you getting along with everyone at the cannery? When you\u2019re inexperienced and you join a new crew, often they are going to test you. Then you\u2019ll have to earn their respect the hard way. If you know it\u2019s a test, it\u2019s not that difficult. Often in those cases it\u2019s something that\u2019s encouraged by the captain and the company (even with money, in that the rest of the crew gets to split the greenhorn\u2019s wages if he or she quits early).<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 Sometimes it\u2019s not even just testing, but cruel abuse. You can guess already that it\u2019s more\u00a0<\/em>often than not a thing that\u2019s deliberately used to split the crew \u2013 turn them against each other and make them antagonize their comrades instead of sticking together against those who put them in the bad situation in the first place.<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 Captains can play different roles \u2013 sometimes they are also just pawns set up to do the dirty work of the company and may join mutinies. Sometimes the captain is openly cruel, which is not very smart.
